Seamless Transactions

Posted by Mary Anne Gale in Untagged

Thanks to all for your patience as we work through the quirks of getting our online ordering system up and running. I’ve been ordering products and paying bills over the internet for years, so I have a newfound appreciation for all of the work that goes into making online transactions seamless! Despite moments of frustration, I do see a connection between technology challenges and Running for Office: Every day, you have an opportunity to create seamless transactions with your coworkers, your boss, and your boss’s boss and peers. You will not help yourself if you focus on perfection at all costs, but it is to your advantage to take a few minutes to think about how your work – a report or presentation or email – will be received by others. Are there little things you can do to make your work easy to access and easy to understand? By thinking things through from others’ perspectives, you will, over time, build a reputation as one who delivers seamless solutions.

My First Blog

Posted by Mary Anne Gale in Untagged

I am so excited about beginning my blog. I love the idea of being able to share with you my thoughts about how to effectively manage your career. It has taken about two years to write the book. During my career I have had so many people ask me advice about their careers. In my speaking engagements over this last year I have been surprised at the lack of knowledge about how to manage your career. People are so willing to give the career management responsibility to their boss. It is great to have the boss involved but you are the person who needs to be managing your career. You know what you want in all the various aspects of your life and although you boss is a great advisor, he or she will never walk in your shoes. You need to take control of your career. Always remember,"Nobody Cares More About Your Career Than You Do!!"
